Wix has a permanent $0 plan with hosting, its editor and templates on a Wix-branded address. Paid pricing is localized by country, currency, tax and promotion. Light is the first conventional paid website tier; Core is the point where the current plan family adds payments, basic ecommerce and scheduling. Check the regional page rather than relying on a dollar figure copied from another market.

Wix Free is a real live site with a visible compromise
The free plan includes hosting, the drag-and-drop editor, no-code features and Wix templates. You can publish and keep editing without a credit card. The address and presentation remain tied to Wix, and the resource limits are smaller than the paid plans.
That is perfectly adequate for learning, a draft or a community project where branding does not matter. A business that is asking customers to trust it will usually want its own domain and the paid plan that supports the required operations.
There is no single worldwide Wix price
Wix localizes plans and displays tax differently by market. Promotions can also change the first term. A US review, an Australian checkout and a UK account can show different numbers while referring to the same plan name.
Record the renewal price, billing period and included tax in your own region. A large introductory discount should not become the number in a three-year budget.
Light publishes; Core starts doing business
Light is the entry website plan. It adds the custom-domain path, more storage and a small collaborator allowance. Core expands storage and collaborators, then adds payments, basic ecommerce and scheduling in the current plan family.
The right boundary is functional. If the site only explains and collects enquiries, Light may be enough. If money, inventory or appointments pass through Wix, price Core and the specific transaction features you need.
Add apps and operations before comparing totals
A Wix subscription can replace separate hosting, a visual editor, forms, bookings, ecommerce and marketing tools. That consolidation is the reason many small businesses choose it.
It can also create add-on costs. List paid apps, email, payment processing, additional collaborators and any business tools outside the core plan. Compare that total with the staff time saved by running everything in one place.
