A Site plan publishes; a Workspace plan changes the workshop
Site plans attach to individual websites and cover custom-domain publishing, page or CMS limits, bandwidth, forms and other live-site features. Workspace plans cover how people create and manage projects, including staging capacity, seats, libraries and code export.
A solo business with one brochure site may need only a Site plan and the free Starter Workspace. An agency handling many client builds may pay for the site and a professional Workspace. Never add headline prices without mapping which layer you actually need.
Starter is enough to learn Webflow, not run a normal company site
The free Site plan provides two static pages, a webflow.io address, limited CMS, 1 GB bandwidth and 50 form submissions. It is a practical sandbox for the Designer and a small prototype.
The two-page limit and lack of a custom domain are the decisive constraints. Use Starter to prove the build method, then budget the paid Site plan the public version requires.
Basic is for static sites, not content operations
The $15 annualised Basic plan supports a custom domain, up to 300 static pages, 10 GB bandwidth and unlimited form submissions. It does not turn the site into a full Webflow CMS publication.
A blog, resource library or directory needs the current CMS plan and its collection limits. Price the content architecture before choosing Basic simply because it is the lowest paid number.
AI and code export sit on different axes
Webflow lists AI capabilities across site and workspace tables, with restrictions on Starter combinations. AI credits and access depend on the workspace and site arrangement, so check the live comparison table for the exact account setup.
Code export belongs to paid Workspace capability and excludes dynamic CMS items and pages. It is useful for static HTML and CSS handoff, but it is not the same as exporting the whole managed Webflow application as Next.js.
