Replit Starter is free and currently includes daily Agent credits, a built-in database and one published project. Core costs $25 month-to-month or $20 a month when billed annually and includes $25 in monthly credits. Pro is aimed at commercial work and is $100 monthly or $95 a month annually, with $100 in monthly credits. Tax and usage beyond the included balance can increase the total.

Starter, Core and Pro solve three different problems
Starter is a real trial workspace, not a timed demo. You can use limited Agent capacity, a database and one published project without paying. It is best for learning the workflow or proving a small idea. The allowance is deliberately narrower than the paid build modes and deployment controls.
Core is the normal individual plan. It adds a monthly usage balance, more capable building, collaborators, parallel agents, regional publishing and badge removal. Pro raises the included credit and collaboration limits for people treating Replit as a commercial development environment rather than an occasional prototyping tool.
- Starter: free; daily Agent credits; one published project.
- Core: $25 monthly or $20 a month billed annually; $25 monthly credits.
- Pro: $100 monthly or $95 a month billed annually; $100 monthly credits.
- Enterprise: custom pricing and controls.
A plan price is not a usage ceiling
Replit's included dollars are credits against Agent and cloud usage. More ambitious builds, repeated agent work and live infrastructure can use more than the allowance. A $20 annualised Core price therefore does not mean every app costs $20 a month to build and operate.
Before upgrading, look at the usage screen after a representative build session. Record Agent spend, deployment resources and any database or service costs separately. That evidence is more useful than estimating from message count because Replit uses effort-based pricing.
What the free plan is good for
Starter is enough to test whether Replit's agent, editor and deployment model suit you. Build one real vertical slice: a working screen, one data path and a public link. Do not spend the allowance polishing a generic demo.
Move to Core when the free build mode or publishing constraints block the work, when you need collaborators or when the Replit badge is inappropriate. If your only job is one reference-led landing page, compare that subscription-and-usage path with a fixed-scope website copier before upgrading.
Budget the app after it becomes popular
A prototype and a live application have different cost curves. Add expected traffic, database activity, storage and recurring Agent changes to the subscription. Put alert thresholds around usage before launch rather than after an unexpected bill.
The correct comparison is Replit's full workspace and runtime against the separate tools you would otherwise buy. It is poor value if you only use the page generator; it can be good value if it replaces a local setup, deployment service, database and part of the development loop.
